Bangkok and Thailand Situation Update 23MAY14

Friday, 23 May 2014, martial law and military coup remain in effect until further notice.

Businesses and public services are adjusting their operating hours to comply with

the nationwide curfew from 22.00 – 05.00 hrs., from 22 May 2014 onwards.

 

Life in Bangkok and Thailand is operating normally during business hours.

However, there may be some inconvenience in public transportation.

Therefore, passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport 3 hours

prior to the departure time and also prepare their travel documents

in case of being inspected by officers during traveling to the airport.

 

At the moment, all THAI’s flights are operating as normal.

For your information, THAI issues fee waivers for flight changes due to

the current situation in Thailand. Re-booking fees and/or penalties related to

flight changes both travel to and from Thailand will be waived from now until 30 June 2014. (For TG Documents issued Worldwide On/Before 22MAY14 with travel period during 23MAY14-31MAY14:Authorize to extend ticket validity to 30JUN14 and allow changing date of travel without fee and surcharges. )

For Rerouting/ reissued tickets sector to/from Thailand and beyond Thailand destinations, please contact THAI Ticketing Offices worldwide.

 

For any passengers who cannot find a mean of transport out of Suvarnabhumi Airport during the curfew hours,

they may use facilities available at CIP Lounges 1-4, located on the 3rd floor of the Passenger Terminal.

Nevertheless, the Shuttle Bus service between Suvarnabhumi airport is operating as usual.
