Overall Situation

  • Around 500 anti-government protesters gathered outside the Army Club compound in the Thai capital, where Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra held a weekly cabinet meeting, as the two sides traded threats in a lengthy political crisis.

  • A Bangkok Post reporter confirmed that shots were heard about 2.40pm and a demonstrator was hit in the leg by a bullet.


  • The gunman was arrested by protest guards and beaten while trying to escape vengeful protesters, it said, adding that he was sent to Rajavithi Hospital.


  • The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) launches an impeachment probe against caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, piling the pressure on her administration.
